Jayme Gies - Chapman

Jayme Gies-Chapman moved back to her native North Carolina to open her first dance studio, Dance EFX, in July 2005. Following the success of her first studio she opened her second, Dance EFX 2 and has been setting the bar in Harnett and surrounding counties ever since.

Jayme, born and raised in Fayetteville, studied under the direction of Barbara Evans (most of Barbara’s training being from the National Ballet of Canada and ABT [American Ballet Theatre]). Jayme attended the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem and later moved to NYC where she was on scholarship at Steps, studying with the most prestigious in the dance industry.

She has worked her way through the dance community as a dancer, choreographer, director and teacher.

As a dancer, she got her first taste of television in the television series “Fame” continuing with “Showtime at the Apollo”, the “Billboard Awards” performing with Aerosmith and the Spice Girls. She has performed in numerous commercials, industrials, dance conventions and musical theatre up and down the east coast and has danced in shows all over the United States, Asia, South America and Europe.

As a choreographer, she choreographed “The World’s Greatest Magic IV and V” for NBC, “Melinda, The First Lady of Magic” for CBS and Disney Television, RCA recording artist Kristine W.’s “Feel It Follies” world tour, numerous television commercials, dance industrials and shows that have been seen all over the globe!

As a teacher, she has taught master and convention classes all over the US, Japan, Holland and South America. She is able to share with her students not only her love of dance but her professional experience as well.


Barbara Evans

Barbara Evans began serious dance training at National Ballet of Canada and later studied at the School of American Ballet and ABT in New York while pursuing a musical theatre and modeling career. She appeared in the Off Broadway production of “Stepping High”.

She has taught dance for 50 years in Fayetteville, New York and for the past nine years in Raleigh. Over the years her Fayetteville students have performed in New York at Lincoln Center and the Mark Goodson Theatre; in Orlando at Walt Disney World; and also in Moscow, Russia; Florence, Italy; Lucerne, Switzerland and on the SS Seabreeze at sea. She choreographed and/or performed in over 40 musical productions at the Fort Bragg Playhouse, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, and Fayetteville Little Theatre.

More recently she implemented and taught the Creative Movement Program at PLAYSPACE Children’s Museum for six years and at Marbles Kids’ Museum during the 2007-2008 school year. She taught Creative Movement in Governor Easley’s More At Four Program at Childcare Network on Six Forks Road. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Dance.

She is very excited about teaching Advanced Ballet and Tap on Tuesdays at Dance EFX/Lillington and looks forward to seeing everyone beginning Tuesday, August 18th.


Lilla Faint

Lilla Faint took ballet, tap and jazz as a child for 7 years and gymnastics for 3 years. Although she continued to have a passion for dance, performing in musical theater and liturgical movement at church, she did not take formal lessons again until 2003 as an adult.

It was during this time she was introduced to Irish Step Dancing and fell in love with it. In the winter of 2005 she participated in her first FEIS (competition) and was awarded 1st place in Jig, Slip Jig and Reel for the Adult beginner category.

Upon moving to North Carolina in the winter of 2007, she began teaching in Fayetteville. Under the direction of Danny Tighe (TCRG) she continues her Irish education and is working towards her own TCRG certification.


Kacie Foreman

Kacie Foreman was born at Womack Army Medical Center. Being part of a military family, she proceeded to move from North Carolina and explore the U.S. Kacie showed an interest in dance since she was able to walk. She started dance training at the age of 7. She spent 4 years dancing at Judy's Dance Studio in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was then moved to Missouri where she began dancing with Laura at the Youth Recreation Center on Ft. Leonard. After Missouri, she found herself in Florida where she was forced to take a year off from dance due to hurricanes. She is now back in her hometown of Spring Lake, North Carolina where she dances with Dance EFX. She is active in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop, and Lyrical dancing.

Kacie has been involved in numerous regional competitions along with Nationals. She has placed in all areas of her competitions in both solo and team routines. Kacie has participated in fund raisers and festivals for communities close to home. She performed with her studio at Walt Disney World in 2006 and performed in National competition in Myrtle Beach, SC in 2008. Kacie recently placed 3rd in the Celebrity Star Awards Competition on board Majesty of the Seas where the whole studio competed in Nationals.

Kacie has been asked to choreograph for plays at the Heart of Harnett Playhouse in Lillington, North Carolina and teaches jazz, hip-hop, tap, and ballet at Dance EFX 2.


Emily Foreman

Emily Foreman was born at Ft Wainwright Army Medical Center in Fairbanks, Alaska. Being the youngest of three in an active military family, Emily adapted to new surroundings quickly. She began dancing at the age of 5. She spent 4 years dancing at Judy's Dance Studio in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Foreman's then moved to Missouri where Emily began dancing with Laura at the Youth Recreation Center on Ft. Leonard. After Missouri, she found herself in Florida where she was forced to take a year off from dance due to hurricanes. She has been in Harnett County for 5 years now where she attends Overhills High School and dances with Dance EFX. She is active in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop, and Lyrical dancing.

Emily has been involved in numerous regional competitions along with Nationals. She has placed in all areas of her competitions in both solo and team routines. Emily has participated in fund raisers and festivals for communities close to home. She performed with her studio at Walt Disney World in 2006 and performed in National competition in Myrtle Beach, SC in 2008.

Emily appeared in the production of Guys and Dolls at the Heart of Harnett Playhouse in LIllington, NC in 2007.


Jennifer Harvell

Jennifer Harvell is originally from Zebulon, NC. She has lived in Lillington for the past 5 years. She is married and has 3 girls. Jennifer has an Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in elementary education and is working towards her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Jennifer started taking dance at the age of 5 from Massey School of Dance in Zebulon. She has taken tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical and clogging. Jennifer continued her dance training until the age of 16.Jennifer was part of a clogging dance team that competed in dance competitions and performed at fall festivals. As an adult, Jennifer took hip-hop and tap classes from Dance EFX.  Out of all the different types of dance Jennifer has taken, clogging has been by far her favorite form of dance.  Jennifer is excited about clogging again and excited about teaching clogging!
