About Jayme Gies

Jayme Gies moved back to her native North Carolina to open her first dance studio, Dance EFX, in July 2005. Following the success of her first studio she opened her second, Dance EFX 2 and has been setting the bar in Harnett and surrounding counties ever since.

Jayme, born and raised in Fayetteville, studied under the direction of Barbara Evans (most of Barbara’s training being from the National Ballet of Canada and ABT [American Ballet Theatre]). Jayme attended the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem and later moved to NYC where she was on scholarship at Steps, studying with the most prestigious in the dance industry.

She has worked her way through the dance community as a dancer, choreographer, director and teacher.

As a dancer, she got her first taste of television in the television series “Fame” continuing with “Showtime at the Apollo”, the “Billboard Awards” performing with Aerosmith and the Spice Girls. She has performed in numerous commercials, industrials, dance conventions and musical theatre up and down the east coast and has danced in shows all over the United States, Asia, South America and Europe.

As a choreographer, she choreographed “The World’s Greatest Magic IV and V” for NBC, “Melinda, The First Lady of Magic” for CBS and Disney Television, RCA recording artist Kristine W.’s “Feel It Follies” world tour, numerous television commercials, dance industrials and shows that have been seen all over the globe!

As a teacher, she has taught master and convention classes all over the US, Japan, Holland and South America. She is able to share with her students not only her love of dance but her professional experience as well.
